University of Maiduguri Faculty of Pharmacy Holds 19th Oath-Taking and Induction Ceremony

The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Maiduguri recently celebrated a significant academic milestone with its 19th Oath-Taking and Induction Ceremony.

The event, held on May 27, 2025, marked the induction of 68 new pharmacists into the profession.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, Professor Yakubu Mukhtar addressed the gathering, highlighting the Faculty's growing national reputation in drug discovery, development, and community-based pharmaceutical care. The Vice Chancellor noted that over 650 pharmacists have graduated from the faculty since its inception, with many exceling in their careers both locally and internationally.

The Registrar of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), Pharm. Ibrahim B. Ahmed, emphasized the importance of induction as a mandatory criterion for registration as a pharmacist. He encouraged the new graduates to explore diverse career paths in the field and to strive for excellence in their professional endeavors.

The ceremony marked a significant moment for both the graduating students and faculty members, celebrating perseverance and academic excellence.
