University of Maiduguri Welcomes NUC Accreditation Team for Key Academic Programs

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, welcomed the accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on Monday, December 9, 2024. The team, led by Professor Yakubu Gora, is in the university for the accreditation of several programs in the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Environmental Sciences.

The programs under review include Arabic Education, English Education, History Education, Health Education, and the B.Sc. Building program. The accreditation exercise is aimed at ensuring that these programs meet the standards required by the NUC.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Yakubu Mukhtar, expressed the university’s full cooperation with the accreditation team. He urged the team to provide valuable advice and recommendations to help improve the quality of education at the university.
