Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced a vacancy for the position of General Manager at its Estate Management Company Limited. The announcement was made through a special bulletin from the university’s Public Affairs Directorate, calling for qualified candidates to apply.
The General Manager will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the company, overseeing its daily operations and reporting directly to the Board of Directors. The university seeks a candidate with a proven record of success in organizational development, strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are also essential for the role.
Eligibility Requirements
Prospective candidates must possess:

A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management and Valuation or a Bachelor's degree in Estate Management, Valuation, Property, Taxation, or other finance and land titling-related disciplines.

A relevant postgraduate degree or diploma is an added advantage.

Proficiency in computer applications and mandatory membership with the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV).

A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience, including at least five years in a senior management position within a commercial estate management company.
Conditions of Service
The successful candidate will initially serve a five-year tenure, with the possibility of renewal for a second and final term based on satisfactory performance. The remuneration and conditions of service will align with the ABU Estate Management Company Limited Staff Conditions of Service.

The envelope should be marked “POST OF GENERAL MANAGER, ABU ESTATE MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED” and addressed to the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Ahmadu Bello University, PMB 1045, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Additionally, applicants are required to arrange for three referees to submit confidential reports on their behalf directly to the Registrar.
