University of Port Harcourt Partners with Giolee Global Resources to Revitalize University Bottling Company

The University of Port Harcourt (UniPort) formalized a strategic partnership today, Thursday, December 12, 2025, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Giolee Global Resources Limited. The agreement aims to fully operate and revitalize the University’s long-dormant Bottling Company.

The signing ceremony, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee Room, signifies a critical step in UniPort's efforts to strengthen its business ventures, revive non-performing assets, and boost internally generated revenue.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the university's drive to develop sustainable business models.

"This partnership is a testament to our determination to reposition and enhance the productivity of University-owned enterprises," Prof. Georgewill stated. "We believe that Giolee Global Resources Limited has the capacity and expertise to transform the Bottling Company into a profitable and efficient facility that will serve the University community and beyond."

Chief Lesi Mao, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Giolee Global Resources Limited, an indigenous environmental response company, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in his firm.
