The United States Department of State has officially opened applications for the prestigious Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD), an initiative designed to foster cross-cultural understanding and offer professional and educational growth opportunities to undergraduate students from across the globe.

The Global UGRAD program provides international students with the unique chance to undertake a one-semester, non-degree study experience in the United States. Participants engage in academic coursework, community service, professional development, and cultural activities, gaining valuable insights and skills that support their future careers.

Administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the program is managed by World Learning for general applicants and by IREX for students from Pakistan under the Global UGRAD Pakistan Program.

Eligibility and Application Process

To qualify for the Global UGRAD program, applicants must meet specific criteria, including being over 18 years of age, holding citizenship in a participating UGRAD country, and currently residing there. They must be undergraduate students in good academic standing with at least one year remaining at their home institution after completing the UGRAD program. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate English proficiency, meet J-1 visa requirements, and commit to returning to their home country upon completion of the program.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy or the Fulbright Commission in their home country. The application process is competitive, with selection based on academic achievements, leadership potential, and dedication to service and cultural exchange. Program Benefits
