Taraba Deputy Governor Donates ₦4 Million to Support Final-Year Mumuye Students
The Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, donated ₦4 million to support 200 final-year Mumuye students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Each student received ₦20,000 during a ceremony at Campview Centre Conference Hall, aimed at easing the financial burden of their final-year projects.
Final-year Mumuye students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria have received a ₦4 million donation from the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali. Each of the 200 beneficiaries received ₦20,000 to support their final-year project expenses.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Campview Centre Conference Hall, where the Deputy Governor emphasized that the gesture aligns with Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas’ educational policy. He described the initiative as a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to enhancing education in Taraba State.
Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali noted that the financial support aims to alleviate the students' financial burdens and encourage them to complete their studies successfully. He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely and represent Taraba State positively in their respective institutions.
The President of the Mumuye Cultural Development Association Youth Wing, Comrade Ezekiel Hammangbado Augustine, praised the Deputy Governor for his support. He explained that the initiative is designed to assist final-year students with their project research.
The beneficiaries are drawn from institutions including Taraba State University Jalingo, Federal University Wukari, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Modibbo Adama University Yola, Adamawa State University Mubi, and the College of Education Zing. Others include the University of Maiduguri, University of Jos, Federal Polytechnic Bali, College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo, Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo, and Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai.
Comrade Ezekiel Hammangbado Augustine lauded the state government for its ongoing investment in education, which he described as a legacy that will benefit both students and parents for generations.
