Usman Danfodio University Extends Registration Deadline for 2022/2023 Academic Session
Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK) has announced the third extension of registration for returning students of the 2022/2023 academic session.
The registration period, initially set to end on 9th June 2023, has been extended to 16th June 2023. The university displayed compassion and grace in response to pressure from parents and guardians. However, students who fail to complete registration within the new deadline will have to defer the session. It is essential for returning students to take advantage of this extension and complete their registration within the specified timeframe to avoid academic deferment.
Extending Compassion and Grace
The decision to extend the registration period was influenced by the requests of parents and guardians of students who could not complete their registration on time. Responding to these concerns, the University Management has decided to extend the registration deadline to Friday, 16th June 2023.
The circular, with Ref number UDUS/R/ACA/018, dated 9th June 2023, was signed by M.M Bako, the Administrative Officer on behalf of the University Registration Committee. It stated: “However, due to pressure from parents and guardians of those who could not register, the management of the University, in its customary display of compassion and grace, has extended the period of the registration to Friday, 16th June 2023.”
A History of Extensions
The Management of the University has shown leniency on more than one occasion by extending the registration period twice before. The last extension meant that late registration was originally slated to end on 9th June 2023. However, the latest extension offers additional time for those students who have yet to complete their registration.
Maximizing the Opportunity
The circular further encouraged students to take advantage of this final extension and complete their registration as soon as possible. It also warned that students who fail to complete their registration within this newly extended deadline will have to defer their academic session.
“By this notice, any student who could not register on or before Friday, 16th June 2023 would have to defer the session,” the memo stated.
Concluding Remarks
The generous decision by the Management of UDUSOK underlines their commitment to accommodating their students’ needs and ensuring their academic journey is as smooth as possible. As such, students are urged to seize this opportunity and ensure they complete their registration before the final deadline to avoid the unfortunate outcome of deferring their academic session.
