Vice President Shettima Affirms Government's Commitment to Educational Overhaul at University of Maiduguri Alumni Reunion

In a resolute declaration, Vice President Kashim Shettima has restated the Federal Government's unwavering commitment to rejuvenating Nigeria's struggling educational system. Addressing attendees at the University of Maiduguri 2023 National Alumni Association reunion dinner and award night in Abuja, Shettima emphasized the government's dedication to creating an inclusive and modern learning environment aligned with global standards.
Represented by Dr. Mohammed Bulama, the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Vice President Shettima outlined the government's Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to allocate resources, expertise, and political support to achieve the educational overhaul. Tertiary education, he asserted, would be a priority in this transformative agenda.

The acting National President of the alumni association, Barr. Afiniki Hananiya, explained that the reunion dinner aimed to showcase the achievements of alumni who have excelled in various careers, highlighting the values instilled by the University of Maiduguri. The award recipients, including prominent figures such as Prof. Aliyu Shugaba, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero of Kano, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim, Professor Babagana Zulum, Dr. Agbo Kefas, Orji Uzor Kalu, Tukur Buratai, and Kashim Shettima, were recognized for their dedication, hard work, and contributions.
Expressing excitement over the accomplishments of alumni, Prof. Aliyu Shugaba, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, acknowledged the indomitable spirit that characterizes the institution.
