Wigwe University in Isiokpo, Ikwere Local Government Area, holds its inaugural matriculation ceremony today Thursday, November 14, 2024. The historic event marks the official admission of 120 pioneering students into the newly established institution, setting the stage for an era of academic excellence and leadership on the African continent.

The ceremony to be held at the Herbert Wigwe Auditorium on campus, commences at 9:00 AM, drawing notable dignitaries from across the nation. The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, will deliver the keynote address, inspiring students to embrace the institution’s mission of cultivating fearless, innovative, and impactful leaders.

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, will attend as the Special Guest of Honour, showing his support for the institution’s commitment to transforming education in Nigeria. Dr. Sam Dede, Chairman of the Matriculation Ceremony Committee, highlighted the event as a “monumental milestone” that embodies Wigwe University’s vision.
