Yobe State University Students Protest Over Non-Payment of Full Student Loan Funds

Students of Yobe State University have petitioned the university management and governing council over the irregular disbursement of student loan funds.

According to the petition, the allocated sum of ₦120,000 meant for each student as part of the student loan scheme has not been paid in full.

Instead, the bursary department has been paying varying amounts, ranging from ₦41,000 to ₦50,000, leaving a significant shortfall. The students claim that this inconsistency has caused undue hardship and financial strain, affecting their academic performance and overall well-being.

The students are urging the university management to investigate the matter promptly and transparently, ensure the correct disbursement of the allocated ₦120,000 to each student, and provide a clear explanation for the discrepancy in payments.

 

The students also reminded the management that the loan scheme requires repayment and requested that the remaining balance be released to enable them to receive the full allocated amount. The students believe that resolving this matter promptly is essential, as it directly affects their academic pursuits and future financial commitments.
