Chika Ofili

Twelve-year-old prodigy Chika Ofili has made headlines worldwide as one of the youngest mathematical geniuses, hailing from London, UK. Chika's remarkable journey to mathematical stardom began when he unearthed a groundbreaking formula that simplifies the division process for various numbers.

While attending Westminster Under School in London, Chika was handed an assignment by his mathematics teacher, Miss Mary Ellis, who also headed the mathematics department at the school. During a holiday break, she recommended a book titled "First Steps for Problem Solvers," published by the UKMT, to help Chika sharpen his problem-solving skills.

The book contained several methods for quickly determining divisibility by numbers like 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9, but it lacked a memorable test for divisibility by 7. Unfazed by this gap, Chika took it upon himself to devise a formula to fill the void.

His formula was brilliantly simple yet profoundly effective: he proposed that to check if a number is divisible by 7, you merely need to take the last digit of the number, multiply it by 5, and then add this result to the remaining part of the number. If the resulting number is divisible by 7, the original number also satisfies this criterion.
