17-Year-Old Williams Moore Jr. Achieves Milestone as Licensed Pilot After Winning Aviation Scholarships
Williams excelled in the academy's three-year program, endorsed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), becoming the first student to complete it. His outstanding performance has earned him an invitation to inspire and mentor his peers in the upcoming class, fostering a new generation of aspiring pilots.

At just 17 years old, Williams Moore Jr. has soared to new heights by obtaining his private pilot's license in the United States, making him one of the youngest licensed pilots in the country. Williams, who is yet to graduate high school, secured various aviation scholarships and attended the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals Aerospace Career Education Academy in Northern Virginia.

His outstanding performance has earned him an invitation to inspire and mentor his peers in the upcoming class, fostering a new generation of aspiring pilots.

Williams embarked on his aviation journey by interviewing for a scholarship through the East Coast Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated (ECCTAI) Youth in Aviation Program (YIAP). Successfully accepted into the ground school, he graduated in the top 5% of his class.
With the support of the East Coast Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Williams accumulated flying hours at Potomac Airfield through Herbert Jones Aviation, LLC. Meeting the namesake of his flight school, original Tuskegee Airman Herbert H. Jones Jr., inspired and encouraged Williams on his aviation path.

Despite his youth, Williams has achieved significant milestones, having completed his first solo flight in June 2019 and obtaining his private pilot’s license on his birthday. His parents, Kamesha Moore and William Moore Sr., express immense pride in their son's determination and goal-setting.
Williams, a recipient of a scholarship from Delta Air Lines to attend the National Flight Academy, aspires to become a commercial airline pilot or a cargo pilot. Additionally, he harbors ambitions to serve his country as a military pilot in the future.
