George Ayisi-Boateng, a 75-year-old man, has achieved a remarkable feat by returning to university and earning his Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctorate (PhD) degrees. This remarkable journey began many years ago when he had to drop out of school due to financial constraints.

In 1994, Dr. George embarked on a journey of personal development, obtaining an Advanced Level (A-Level) certificate through private studies. He ensured that all his children began their educational journeys at a young age. His first daughter had completed her schooling and commenced teaching at St Louis Secondary School in Kumasi, while the second was pursuing higher education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His third child had successfully graduated from a university in Canada, the fourth was in the fifth year at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) at KNUST, and the youngest was attending nursing training school.

In 2005, after ensuring that all his children had reached various educational milestones, Dr. George made the resolute decision to return to school for further learning. His goal was to achieve something his late father couldn't provide during his lifetime. Following discussions with his family and friends, this incredible journey commenced.

At the age of 60, Dr. George enrolled in evening part-time classes at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba (now Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development - AAMUSTED). Remarkably, at 64 years old, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with honors. His educational pursuit did not end there, as he proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

Dr. George's thirst for knowledge persisted, leading him to further his studies at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. At the age of 75, he successfully earned his PhD Degree.In 2017, Dr. George was appointed as the High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, serving in this position until 2021.Dr. George Ayisi-Boateng dedicates his remarkable academic achievements to his family.
