On the 23rd of September 2024, the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Control Institute (GHIDI) of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, held a significant orientation ceremony, welcoming 78 PhD scholars into its prestigious Postgraduate programs, including Public Health (MPH), PhD Health Economics, Policy and Management, and PhD Molecular Biology and Genomics.
The event was graced by Professor Yakubu Ngwai, who addressed the inductees, offering both congratulations and words of encouragement. "As an Ensonian, from this day forward, be a leader," he advised. "Step forward in times of challenge, saying, 'We can do this, and I will lead the way.'"
This year's matriculation was particularly momentous as the scholars are the first to enroll after GHIDI earned its historic Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation—the first institution in Africa to receive this recognition.
