ABSU Outgoing Registrar Welcomes Incoming Acting Registrar

The outgoing Registrar of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), Dr. Acho Elendu, has formally welcomed the incoming Acting Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Joy Nwankwo, as part of the transition process ahead of the appointment of a substantive Registrar for the university.

Dr. Elendu made the remarks during a meeting with the incoming Acting Registrar, School, College and Institute Secretaries, as well as Faculty Officers, held at the Conference Room of the Registrar.

The outgoing Registrar urged members of staff to extend maximum support and cooperation to the Acting Registrar, just as they did during his tenure.

He expressed confidence that their continued commitment and cooperation would contribute significantly to the smooth administration of the university.

Responding, the incoming Acting Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Joy Nwankwo, congratulated Dr. Elendu on the achievements recorded during his tenure and his successful stewardship of the university’s Registry.

She also wished him good health and greater accomplishments as he proceeds to the next phase of his career and endeavours.

Dr. Nwankwo urged members of staff to continually improve themselves through personal development and reading. She also encouraged them to maintain a strong spiritual life and make adequate plans for retirement.

She stressed the importance of preparing for life after active service, noting that proper retirement planning would help staff remain independent and prevent them from becoming a burden to their families and society.

In a vote of thanks, the Head of Personnel, ABSU Umuahia Location, Mr. Henry Agbaeze, appreciated the outgoing Registrar for the indelible footprints he left in the university and congratulated Dr. Nwankwo on her appointment as Acting Registrar.

Members of staff at the meeting also took turns to commend the outgoing Registrar for his remarkable contributions and impact on the university.

They assured the incoming Acting Registrar of their continued support, cooperation and commitment to the effective administration of the institution.
