TASFUED Management Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare, Institutional Progress

TASFUED Management Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare, Institutional Progress

The Management of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, has reaffirmed its commitment to staff welfare, unity and the continued growth and development of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor gave the assurance when the Ogun State Chapter of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), led by its State Chairman, Comrade Rasaq John Olayinka, paid him a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his appointment as the sixth substantive and third indigenous Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Receiving the delegation, Prof. Oladipo expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of goodwill, solidarity and support for his administration. He assured the union leaders that the gesture would be reciprocated through an inclusive and productive working relationship.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed that staff welfare remained a major priority of his administration’s STARWIN Agenda, assuring members of staff that their wellbeing and professional interests would continue to receive the attention they deserved.

Prof. Oladipo said his approach to issues, particularly those concerning unionism and workers’ welfare, had been influenced by his experience and understanding of the education sector.

“I understand this system, I've worked from the College of Education days to date, so I can feel the plight of workers,” he noted.

He stressed that achieving sustainable progress at TASFUED would require the collective support, unity and cooperation of all stakeholders. He therefore called for a strong partnership between Management and the various staff unions to promote industrial harmony and advance the interests of the University.

Earlier, the NASU Ogun State Chairman, Comrade Rasaq John Olayinka, congratulated Prof. Oladipo on his appointment and assured him of the union’s support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

Comrade Olayinka said NASU remained willing to collaborate with the University Management whenever called upon, while wishing the Vice-Chancellor a peaceful, successful and impactful tenure.

Expressing confidence in the new administration, the State Chairman said the union would support initiatives aimed at improving staff welfare and promoting institutional development.

He also commended the leadership of the TASFUED NASU Branch for what he described as strong and purposeful leadership, expressing optimism that members of the union would benefit from the administration’s commitment to staff welfare.

Comrade Olayinka particularly applauded the Vice-Chancellor for the payment of the newly negotiated salary, describing the development as a positive beginning for the administration. He aptly captured the development with the expression, “New VC, new salary.”

The State Secretary, Comrade Babalola Bolaji, appreciated the warm reception accorded the delegation and reiterated NASU’s readiness to maintain a cordial and mutually beneficial relationship with the University Management in the interest of the institution and its workforce.

The engagement ended with prayers for the success of Prof. Oladipo and his administration, as well as the continued peace, progress and development of TASFUED.

A vote of thanks was subsequently delivered by the immediate past Chairman, Comrade K. K. Lawal, who expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to the delegation and the fruitful outcome of the visit.
