In cheering news this morning, Abia State University (ABSU), under the exemplary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu, has achieved full accreditation for its Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval, marking a historic milestone for the university and the Department of Pharmacy.

This achievement represents the culmination of extensive efforts and investments by the university management to transform a dream into reality. Prof. Ogbulu's student-oriented approach and strategic stewardship have been instrumental in driving ABSU towards academic excellence and recognition.

Notably, ABSU's recent accolades include its ranking as the 16th best university overall in Nigeria and the 2nd best state university by Times Higher Education. This recognition underscores the university's commitment to excellence despite resource challenges.

In addition to the PharmD accreditation, the university Senate recently approved the elevation of three departments—Nursing, Optometry, and Medical Laboratory Science—into full-fledged faculties. This decision reflects the visionary leadership of Prof. Ogbulu and establishes a lasting legacy for the university.
