ASUU ABU Chapter Write Open Letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Over Energy Crisis

A group of academic staff at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking his intervention in the lingering energy crisis at the institution.

The letter, signed by the undersigned Nigerian citizens and academic staff of ABU, highlighted the debilitating effect of the energy crisis on university operations and appealed to the President to mediate in the matter.

The academics expressed concern over the recent increase in electricity tariff, which they said has aggravated the crisis, and urged the President to shield educational institutions from the burden of commercialization.

The letter also drew attention to the impact of the energy crisis on research and learning, citing instances of lost research specimens and destroyed foodstuff during a recent power outage.
