National Information Technology Development (NITDA) has educated Corps Members on Digital Skills at the Osun State NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Saturday.
Speaking during the lecture tagged 'Mind the Gap', the facilitator, Mr Oluwaferanmi Adeleye, gave extensive information on the importance of Digital skills in modern Nigeria. He states that the average Nigerian business owner and University
graduate needs digital skills to maintain relevance in the job market and the Nigerian economy at large.
The lecture focused on different digital skills. Some of which are digital marketing, data analytics, software design, web design and graphics design. Corps Members were advised to pick up digital skills as they are necessary for every professional to survive in the business world.
NITDA also organised an inter-platoon debate where Corps Members discussed the topic:
'Digital Skills are Compulsory for Every Youth that Wants to get a Decent Job or Build a Successful Business'.
Each platoon discussed the importance and benefits of digital marketing in different aspects.
The results of the debate presented platoons ten, eight and two as the first, second and third, respectively. The winning platoons were awarded cash prices.
As a reward for participation, the other platoons received a free airtime package.
