The Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) in Ebonyi is poised to mark a significant milestone in its academic journey as it prepares to confer its inaugural doctorate and Masters degrees during its combined 7th and 8th convocation ceremony scheduled for May 23, 2024.

According to Prof. Sunday Elom, the Vice Chancellor of AE-FUNAI, a total of 96 postgraduate students will be graduating, including nine recipients of doctorate degrees, 62 Masters degree awardees, and 24 postgraduate diploma recipients. This marks the first time the institution will be presenting doctorate and masters degrees students for convocation, signifying a remarkable achievement in its academic progression.

Highlighting the distinguished contributions of two eminent Nigerians, the university will confer Honourary Doctorate Degrees upon Former Governor of Ebonyi, Chief Martin Elechi, and Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Founder of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, for their commendable contributions to the development of the country. Chief Elechi will be awarded a Doctor of Economics, while Chief Chukwuma will receive a Doctor of Engineering and Technology.
