The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has inducted 36 new graduates into the pharmacy profession during a ceremony held at the Pa. Ishaku Lecture Theater, Samaru campus, on Wednesday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold the values of humility and respect in their professional journey. He also encouraged them to give back to the faculty, highlighting the support it has received from alumni over the years.

Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Aliyu Muhammad Musa, represented by Deputy Dean, Prof. M.G. Magaji, acknowledged the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and industrial actions but praised the resilience of the graduates, describing them as molded in both character and learning. He also thanked faculty members, parents, and the university management for their support.

The Registrar of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, represented by Northwest Coordinator, Pharm. Bisi Obisesan, administered the pharmaceutical oath. He reminded the graduates that the next phase of their career begins with the compulsory internship program and emphasized maintaining high ethical standards in their practice.

Graduates' representative, Pharm. Jafar Suleiman, pledged their commitment to upholding the values of the profession and contributing to the university’s development. He noted the significance of the induction ceremony coinciding with World Pharmacy Day.

Parents’ representative, Prof. G.U. Garba, urged the graduates to keep the university’s name in high regard, noting ABU’s unique representation from all 774 local governments in Nigeria. He commended the faculty for its efforts in shaping future leaders.

The event featured goodwill messages, a photo session, and was attended by faculty heads, parents, and families of the graduates.
