Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has been chosen as one of the institutions to pilot the Technical Teacher Training Programme (TTTP), a federal initiative aimed at equipping Nigerian youth with vocational training skills.  

The announcement was made during a facility tour and validation exercise conducted by a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Education at ABU. The visit was part of preparations to launch the programme.  

Leading the team, Mrs. Olaniyan Gbemisola expressed gratitude to the university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, for sharing insights that could ensure the programme’s sustainability and success. She highlighted the importance of available teaching staff, equipment, and curriculum, noting that ABU’s resources made it a strong candidate for the project.

"I have no doubt ABU is more than capable," Gbemisola remarked, affirming the university's readiness to spearhead the initiative.  

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Prof. M.S. Shehu, thanked the delegation for recognizing ABU’s capabilities. He assured them of the university’s commitment to supporting the programme’s objectives and its successful implementation.
