Ahmadu Bello University VC Participates in Technical Teachers Training Sensitization Meeting
He highlighted the importance of equipping technical teachers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, participated in the Annual Sensitization Meeting for Stakeholders and Members of the Technical Teachers Training Advisory Committee, organized by the Federal Ministry of Education. Prof. Bala was represented at the meeting by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. H. I Bayero.
The meeting, held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Abuja on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, focused on implementing the Technical Teacher Training Programme. The theme of the programme was "Developing 21st Century Technical Teachers: Preparing for Future."
Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, who declared the event open, emphasized the Ministry's commitment to transforming the education sector to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving world. He highlighted the importance of equipping technical teachers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
The programme aimed to upgrade teachers in technical, science, mathematical, and vocational subjects to meet the needs of the labor market and contribute to Nigeria's economic development. It also provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas on improving the Technical Teacher Training Programme.
