In a momentous occasion, the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) and the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) have joined hands in a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing. This collaboration signifies a commitment to fostering Inter-University Cooperation and Interaction, Scientific and Cultural Exchange, and strengthening the bonds between Nigeria and Ghana.

In a significant stride toward promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange, and cooperation between nations, the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) in Ikorodu, Lagos State. The collaboration was solidified through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The five-year agreement, signed at the AAMUSTED campus, aims to establish a framework for Inter-University Cooperation and Interaction, Scientific and Cultural Exchange, fostering mutual understanding and respect between the citizens of Nigeria and Ghana. The partnership envisions a dynamic engagement that transcends geographical boundaries, enhancing the educational experiences of students and faculty members from both institutions.

The MoU outlines a comprehensive roadmap for collaboration, with a focus on achieving at least eight specific academic and professional objectives, including:

1. Joint Research Collaborations and Application for Research Grants: Both universities will pool their intellectual resources to conduct collaborative research initiatives, with the aim of applying for research grants to support innovative projects.

The signing ceremony was attended by a three-member delegation from LASUSTECH, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya. The delegation also included the Registrar, Mr. David Semawon Ogungbe, and Prof. Kolawole Raheem, the facilitator of the collaboration.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya expressed enthusiasm about the potential of this collaboration to elevate the academic and research capabilities of both institutions. He highlighted the significance of fostering strong ties between Nigerian and Ghanaian universities to create a conducive environment for knowledge exchange.
