Al-Hikmah University GAMJI Students Association Hosts Health Walk for World Cancer Day
To commemorate World Cancer Day, the Al-Hikmah University chapter of the GAMJI Students Association organised a high-visibility Cancer Awareness Health Walk within the campus community on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
The initiative was designed to sensitise students, faculty, and staff to the critical role of early detection and the adoption of healthy lifestyle choices in the global fight against the disease.
Participants, led by the association's executive members, marched through the university's main thoroughfares, distributing educational materials and advocating for regular medical check-ups. The walk underscored the following key health messages:
Early Detection Saves Lives: Encouraging the community to recognize early warning signs and seek professional medical screening.
Lifestyle Modification: Highlighting the link between physical activity, balanced nutrition, and reduced cancer risks.
Community Support: Reducing the stigma associated with cancer and fostering a supportive environment for those affected.
By spearheading this campaign, the GAMJI Students Association continues to demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility and student-led advocacy. The event aligns with Al-Hikmah University's broader mission of producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also socially conscious and community-oriented.
The association urged members of the university community to move beyond awareness and take proactive steps toward personal health management.
