Ajayi Crowther University has hosted the 2026 National Training Workshop of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), bringing together senior university administrators from across the South-West for high-level capacity building and governance-focused engagement.

The workshop, held under the theme “Advancing University Resilience Through Effective Strategic Governance, Administrative Excellence and Institutional Sustainability,” focused on strengthening administrative systems, improving institutional efficiency, and promoting long-term sustainability across Nigeria’s university landscape.
The event attracted participants drawn from multiple higher institutions, with sessions designed to sharpen competencies in strategic management, policy execution, and operational leadership within the academic environment.
A key highlight of the programme was the recognition of the Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Ebunoluwa Oduwole, and the university’s second substantive Registrar, Adenike Fatogun, who were honoured by ANUPA’s Local Organising Committee and National Executive Council for their contributions to institutional development and administrative capacity building.

In her address, Vice-Chancellor Ebunoluwa Oduwole urged university administrators to adopt stronger frameworks of creativity, professionalism, and ethical responsibility in the discharge of their duties. She stressed that modern university administration requires innovation-driven thinking, not routine compliance, especially in an increasingly complex higher education environment.
She further encouraged participants to develop practical administrative models that enhance efficiency and decision-making, noting that institutional resilience depends heavily on the ability of administrators to adapt and solve problems proactively.
The National President of ANUPA, Victor Bem, described the association as a critical stabilising force within Nigeria’s university system, highlighting its role in maintaining effective governance structures across institutions. He commended the hosting institution for its organisation and hospitality, while urging participants to maximise the training opportunity for professional growth and institutional benefit.
The University Registrar, Bode Olofinmuagun, charged attendees to remain engaged throughout the sessions and ensure that knowledge gained is translated into improved administrative performance at their respective institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the ACU ANUPA chapter, Mrs. Folashade Daniel commended the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and reaffirmed the commitment of university administrators to efficiency, diligence, and service excellence.

The workshop featured technical lectures delivered by seasoned administrators and resource persons, reinforcing the broader objective of strengthening governance capacity and institutional effectiveness within Nigeria’s university system.
