 The recent visit of renowned philanthropist Akinyemi Oluwaseun Omotayo, popularly known as Asherkine, to the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has ignited controversy among  female students of the institution.

Asherkine’s customary generosity took an unexpected turn, leaving some female students disheartened. In his signature style, Asherkine surprised a lucky female student by taking her on a lavish shopping spree followed by a romantic date. However, this seemingly innocent gesture triggered a flurry of emotions among the female students who had hoped to be chosen for a similar experience.

Female students flooded social media platforms with their disappointment, sharing their feelings of exclusion. One video clip, now viral, captures a female student playfully beckoning Asherkine to take her out as well, even revealing her address in hopes of catching his attention. In the same way other students took to commenting their stance,Asherkine never comes when I'm around". "Asherkine, me next", another remarked.

Male students also weighed in, pointing out that Asherkine’s philanthropic acts consistently favor female recipients. They expressed frustration that his gestures rarely extend to male students.
