Aspira Nigeria Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to awarding scholarships to 60 indigent students of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

This move is aimed at contributing to the country's development, with education being one of the company's core mandates ¹.

During a courtesy visit by BUK's top management, led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Management Services, Professor Mahmoud Umar Sani, Aspira's General Manager, Abbas Ja'afar, assured that the scholarship funds would be provided to deserving students as soon as possible. Ja'afar emphasized the company's dedication to bringing smiles to students' faces and highlighted Aspira's broader educational initiatives, including the renovation of 33 public schools in Kano .

 

Aspira has also employed numerous BUK graduates, strengthening its ties with the university, and plans to continue this trend in the future. The company believes investing in education is crucial in addressing Nigeria's ongoing security challenges .

BUK's Registrar, Dr. Haruna Aliyu, urged Aspira to explore collaboration opportunities, particularly in addressing marketing challenges. Professor Shansuddeen Umar, Dean of Student Affairs, expressed appreciation for the scholarships and the newly established Laundromat, praising Aspira's interventions and goodwill gestures .
