Association of African Private Universities President, Prof. Gwarzo Congratulates Al-Istiqama University on First Convocation
Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President of AAPU and Founder of MAAUN, congratulated Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, on its maiden convocation. He led a MAAUN delegation to the event and praised the university’s achievements, urging graduates to be exemplary ambassadors.
The President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU) and Founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has congratulated Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano State, on its maiden convocation ceremony.
Prof. Gwarzo led a delegation from Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) to attend the historic event, which took place on Saturday in Sumaila. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the university's proprietor, Senator Abdulrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila, as well as the institution's management, staff, and graduating students for reaching this significant milestone.
Addressing the convocation audience, Prof. Gwarzo commended the university’s achievements and urged the graduates to be exemplary ambassadors of Al-Istiqama University and Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of upholding academic excellence and making meaningful contributions to society.
In his speech, the proprietor of the university, Senator Abdulrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Gwarzo for his unwavering support towards the university since its inception. He acknowledged the contributions of AAPU and MAAUN in fostering educational development in Nigeria and beyond.
The MAAUN delegation accompanying Prof. Gwarzo included the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Dr. Abba Jidda of MAAUN Maradi, and Dr. Musa Lawal Jibia, among others.
During the ceremony, a total of 162 students graduated from the university, marking a major achievement for the young institution. The convocation ceremony was a moment of pride and celebration for both the university and its stakeholders.
