ASUU should make the negotiation easier so that Students can get back to classes - Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu

The Chief whip of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has urged the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, RT. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to reach to a solid agreement so that Students can get back to school, Myschoolnews.ng report.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senator on Wednesday, 27th July, 2022.
The statement reads below;
“I appeal to president Muhammadu Buhari to put more pressure on his Ministers and get the students back to class . ASUU should also make the negotiation easier . A lot of people from my constituency are out of school due to the ongoing strike . They have been on me and it gets me more worried.”
He also said ”I am only a legislator and my powers are limited . When I was Governor, I never for once allowed the schools in Abia go on strike.”
In conclusion he said ”life is about negotiation and I believe that Federal Government and ASUU can end this strike today”
Nothing derails a country like lack of Education ; it’s worse than insecurity.
