Augustine University Holds Second Module of Strategic Planning Summit to Drive Institutional Transformation

Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, held the second module of its Strategic Planning Summit at the University's Convocation Hall as a follow-up to the inaugural session aimed at developing a comprehensive roadmap for the institution's future.

The programme focused on advancing discussions on the University's strategic direction and institutional development.

The summit was facilitated by Professor Chris Ogbechie, former Dean and Professor of Strategic Planning at Lagos Business School and a member of the Augustine University Governing Council.

Drawing on his experience in strategic leadership and institutional planning, Professor Ogbechie guided participants through key sessions designed to strengthen the University's long-term strategic framework.

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, delivered the opening remarks, emphasising the importance of collective commitment in shaping the future of Augustine University and positioning the institution for greater impact in higher education.

The Chairperson of the Strategic Planning Committee, Professor Roseangela Nwuba, delivered the opening address, welcoming participants and reiterating the University's determination to develop a strategic plan that reflects its vision, mission and aspirations.

A major highlight of the summit was a series of breakout sessions where participants engaged in robust and collaborative discussions on reviewing and refining the University's strategic pillars.

The programme also featured:

• A review of the first session.
• Plenary discussions.
• Faculty and unit group work.
• Deliberations on strategic enablers.
• Key outcomes for faculties and departments by 2032.
• Strategic action plans for implementation.

The summit concluded with the presentation of a gift to the facilitator, Professor Chris Ogbechie, in appreciation of his invaluable contributions to the University's strategic planning process.

The gift was presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, Professor Grace Evbuomwan.
