As part of preparations for the new academic session, Augustine University launched a two-day orientation programme for its staff, focusing on the theme "Igniting Passion for Excellence." The programme, which commenced on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the university’s Convocation Hall, aims to equip staff members with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive excellence in their respective roles.
In his opening address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde, emphasized the critical importance of teamwork and striving for excellence in ensuring the university's continued success. He highlighted the institution's commitment to creating a collaborative environment that fosters academic and administrative growth.
The Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba, also addressed the staff, stressing the pivotal role they play in advancing the university’s mission. She encouraged the staff to take ownership of their contributions to the institution’s growth and uphold the standards that Augustine University is known for.
The orientation, set to conclude on October 16, 2024, features several sessions designed to enhance staff capabilities. Key presentations include "Fostering a Supportive Environment for Learning and Growth" by Dr. Adelodun Kolapo, and a virtual presentation on "What is a Catholic University?" by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The ICT Unit also delivered a session on AUI ICT Updates, while Rev. Sr. Josephine Tiav from the Counseling Unit led a session on "Recognize and Manage Reactivity", offering strategies for managing workplace stress and maintaining a positive work environment.
This training programme underscores Augustine University's commitment to academic and professional excellence, ensuring that its staff is well-prepared to meet the demands of the new academic session.
