In response to rising national security concerns, Babcock University has re-inaugurated its Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) chapter, underscoring its dedication to fostering strong police-community relations and bolstering public security. This event, which took place at the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ilishan, comes seven years after the chapter's initial launch.
During the gathering, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Betty Ajuwon, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing community safety challenges. “We need support to build a safe community,” she remarked, highlighting the role of shared responsibility in tackling insecurity.
Also present was Dr. Samson Popoola, the PCRC State Chair, who advocated for cooperation as a key to overcoming societal issues. "There is no perfect society. We must manage one another," he stated, urging continued unity among community members.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Ogun State PCRC Vice Chair, Adesanya Oduola, and Area Command spokesman, Oguntayo Adelana, who joined participants in a renewed pledge to create a safer community through a revitalized PCRC initiative.
Several patrons of the PCRC chapter expressed their commitment to supporting these goals.
