Bayero University Kano Announces Public Holiday for Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary

The Bayero University Kano community has been notified that the Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary .

According to the circular issued by the Office of the Registrar, staff on shift duty, emergency, or essential services in various units are expected to report for duty as usual. All other university activities will resume on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor and Management extended their warmest wishes to the university community for a happy Independence Day celebration.

This announcement aligns with the federal government's declaration of October 1 as a national public holiday, marking Nigeria's independence from British colonial rule in 1960.
