Federal University of Lafia Organizes Leadership Training for Deans, Directors
The one-day event, themed "Effective Leadership Skills for University Management,"aimed to enhance the productivity and leadership skills of participants.

The Staff Productivity and Promotion Unit (SPPU) of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has conducted a leadership training program for newly appointed deans, directors, and deputy directors. The one-day event, themed "Effective Leadership Skills for University Management,"aimed to enhance the productivity and leadership skills of participants.
Held at the MIS Multi-purpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, declared the event open. He emphasized the importance of leadership roles in adding value to the institution and urged participants to leverage the training to improve their effectiveness.
"It is not just about gaining positions but making an impact and adding value to others and the system," Abdul Rahman said, while also highlighting the university’s commitment to staff development through training programs.
Mrs. Becky Kajo, Head of SPPU, expressed gratitude to the vice-chancellor for his support in making the training successful. Participants, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Ishaq Ali Shugaba, and others, commended the initiative and pledged to apply the skills and strategies acquired to enhance productivity.
The program featured lectures on critical topics such as "Credibility in Leadership" by the vice-chancellor and "Soft Skills for 21st Century Leaders" by Prof. Josephine Odey. Group discussions and practical exercises also enriched the training experience, fostering collaboration and practical application of leadership principles.
