Bayero University Kano Honors Outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellors in Grand Reception

Bayero University Kano (BUK) hosted a grand reception on Friday, February 28, 2025, to honor its outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellors for their dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the university .
The event, held at the CBN Centre of Excellence, celebrated the achievements of Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Mahmoud Umar Sani, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), and Professor Abdullahi Sule-Kano, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development).
The outgoing DVCs successfully completed their two-term tenure, leaving behind a legacy of indomitable leadership, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the university's growth over the past five years.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas commended the outgoing DVCs for their unparalleled dedication in advancing the university's vision, emphasizing that their efforts played a pivotal role in elevating BUK as one of Africa's leading institutions ¹. He acknowledged their selfless sacrifices, stating that their names would remain integral to the university's history.
Professor Abdullahi Sule-Kano, speaking on behalf of the honorees, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for providing them with the opportunity to contribute to the university's growth. He also appreciated the unwavering support of staff and colleagues, which enabled them to achieve significant milestones.
The ceremony included the presentation of gifts, including 65-inch Smart TVs for each of the celebrated DVCs. The event was attended by Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Units, and other senior members of the university, marking a memorable farewell for the distinguished academics .
