Bayero University Kano Hosts NUC Accreditation Team for Five Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation team recently visited Bayero University Kano (BUK) to examine five additional programmes.

The team, led by Professor Bashir Maina from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, emphasized that the visit was not for "witch-hunting" but to ensure quality and standards in the programmes.

The programmes under review include Masters of Entrepreneurship Ed. Early Childhood Education,  Ed. Primary Education,  Ed Science Education (Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), and B. Eng. Computer Engineering.

BUK's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, welcomed the team and expressed the university's commitment to peer review and quality assurance.

 

The NUC accreditation visit is part of the commission's efforts to ensure that Nigerian universities maintain high standards and quality in their academic programmes. BUK has a history of successful accreditation exercises, having recently received full accreditation status for six of its postgraduate programmes hosted at the Africa Centres of Excellence.
