Bayero University Kano Hosts Symposium on Tax Reforms in Nigeria

Bayero University Kano is set to host a significant symposium to mark the 42nd memorial anniversary of Malam Aminu Kano. The event, themed "The Politics of Tax Reforms in Nigeria: Expectations and Realities," will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Sa'adu Zungur Auditorium, Mambayya House, Gwammaja, Kano.
The symposium will feature Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago, Department of Accounting, Bayero University Kano, as the guest speaker. Other notable participants include Sen. Sulaiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumalla, Senator representing Kono South Senatorial Zone at the 10th National Assembly, and Prof. Badayi M. Sant, Department of Economics, Bayero University Kano, who will serve as discussants.
Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja, will chair the occasion, while Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, Vice Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, will host the event. His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Governor of Kano State, will serve as the cheer host.
The symposium is organized by Mambayya House Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Bayero University Kano, and aims to bring together academics, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the intricacies of tax reforms in Nigeria, exploring both expectations and realities.
