Bayero University Staff Model Secondary School Inaugurates New Board to Enhance Educational Standards

Bayero University’s Staff Model Secondary School inaugurated its newly constituted board on October 7, 2024, with the aim of elevating the institution's standing to compete with leading secondary schools in Kano metropolis. The inauguration was led by Professor Ali Idris, who outlined the board's vision and strategies for the school.
Professor Idris emphasized the formation of four sub-committees: Technical and Academic Committee, Recruitment and Upgrading Committee, Staff and Students' Disciplinary Committee, and Finance and General Purpose Committee. He expressed confidence in the board members, selected by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, to drive the school's progress.
The chairman noted several recent achievements, including the procurement of laboratory equipment, upgrading the computer lab with additional computers, enhancing security features, and improving the school’s infrastructure with solar power and motorized water systems. The school's principal, Alhaji Tijani M. Adamu, highlighted the current student enrollment of 706 and commended the board for initiatives like solarizing classrooms and renovating facilities.
In terms of academic performance, the school recorded impressive results, achieving a 95% success rate in WAEC and 96% in NECO during the 2023/2024 academic session. The principal also mentioned various extracurricular activities, including debates and entrepreneurship competitions, reinforcing the school's commitment to holistic education.
The newly formed board includes Professor Ali Idris as Chairman and Mustapha Mohammed Gide as Secretary, alongside other distinguished members, all dedicated to enhancing the school's educational standards.
