Bingham University Welcomes Nasarawa Revenue Delegation for New Tax Regime Sensitization

Officials of the Nasarawa State Revenue Service (NRS) In preparation for the new tax regime in Nigeria starting January 2026, led by Sabo Balarabe Usman, visited the University. Usman stated that the team was in the University for a sensitization visit on the Nigeria Tax Administration Acts 2025 signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He revealed that individuals and companies are expected to comply with the new tax law, adding that the NRS has linked the Tax ID portal to Nigeria's foundational databases: National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

To obtain a 13-digit Tax Identity Number, individuals can visit https://taxid.nrs.gov.ng/, while companies can use https://taxid.jrb.gov.ng/.

The University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, appreciated the NRS team for their dedication and patriotism, saying the visit was timely and would enlighten the university community on the new tax law.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of booklets on the new tax regime to the Vice-Chancellor.
