Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Engages Covenant University Students with Career Opportunities
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) conducted a 'Grow at BCG' event at Covenant University, introducing a business analyst program to penultimate and final year students.
A team representing the Lagos office of the renowned global consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), led by Mr. Tolu Aina, the Recruiting Director, recently visited Covenant University to host a 'Grow at BCG' event. This initiative aimed to introduce a business analyst program in management consulting to penultimate and final year students of the institution.
The event, held at Covenant University's African Leadership Development Center on April 5, 2024, was organized in collaboration with the University's International Office and Linkages, drawing students from various departments.
In his welcoming address, Dr. Isaac Akinwunmi, Director of the International Office and Linkages, extended gratitude to the BCG team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo. Dr. Akinwunmi highlighted the University's commitment to students' development and future success, underscoring the alignment of the 'Grow at BCG' program with Covenant University's vision of nurturing new generations of leaders.
During his remarks, Mr. Tolu Aina highlighted the significance of the event, noting that 18% of BCG Lagos staff comprises Covenant University alumni. He elaborated on BCG's global presence, collaborative approach, and its commitment to addressing critical challenges in both public and private sectors.
Mr. Aina announced exclusive fellowship and internship opportunities for Covenant University students, emphasizing the requirement of a strong academic background and proven leadership skills. The 'Grow at BCG' fellowship offers penultimate students a consulting experience, followed by interviews for the Business Analyst role. The Business Analyst Program, a one-year internship, provides fresh graduates with consulting work experience, leading to potential full-time employment at BCG Lagos.
Registration for the program will commence in April, closing on May 6, 2024. Mr. Aina outlined the program's structured stages and highlighted the benefits of participation.
During presentation sessions, BCG team members shared insights into the firm's operations, success strategies, and career opportunities. They emphasized BCG's transformative approach to client engagements aimed at fostering growth, sustainable competitive advantage, and positive societal impact.
Following the presentations, an interactive session allowed students to engage with the BCG team, seeking further clarification and insights. One-on-one interactions between students and the BCG representatives provided an opportunity for personalized discussions and inquiries.
