Bayero University, Kano (BUK) and Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) are set to strengthen their partnership, focusing on future opportunities for graduates.

This development was announced during a courtesy visit by a GT Bank delegation to the Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas.

 

The partnership aims to provide tailored financial services to meet the university's needs, as well as introduce new investment products that will benefit the university community. Hajiya Hauwa Kakudi, Branch Manager of GT Bank's Zaria Road branch, led the delegation and commended BUK for being a valued customer.

Professor Abbas reassured students of the university's commitment to financial support, citing the federal government's Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) as a vital initiative. The university has also introduced measures such as extended registration periods, temporary study suspensions, and the On-Campus Student Job Scheme to support students facing challenges.

Additionally, BUK has established a Skills Acquisition Centre to equip students with practical skills for self-reliance after graduation. Professor Abbas urged graduates to uphold the university's values and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.
