BUK Senate Approves Revised Academic Calendar for 2023/2024 Undergraduate Programmes

The Senate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has approved a revised academic calendar for the 2023/2024 undergraduate programmes at its 416th meeting.

 

According to a statement signed by Malam Aminu Wada Kurawa, Acting Director, Directorate of Examination, Admission and Records, the revised calendar is as follows:

 

- First Semester Lectures: July 15 - October 19, 2024 (14 weeks)

- Mid-Semester Break: August 26 - 31, 2024 (1 week)

- First Semester Examinations: October 21 - November 16, 2024 (4 weeks)

- Semester Break: November 18 - 23, 2024 (1 week)

- Second Semester Lectures: November 25, 2024 - February 22, 2025 (13 weeks)

- Mid-Semester Break: December 6 - 11, 2024 (1 week)

- Second Semester Examinations: February 24 - March 22, 2025 (4 weeks)

- End of Session Break: March 24 - May 3, 2025 (6 weeks)

 

Additionally, the Senate approved the following decisions:

RECOMMENDED FOR YOU: NOUN Professor Advocates for Women's Empowerment, Calls for End to Gender Imbalance

 

- Resumption date for the 2024/2025 academic session

- Migration of the Department of Economics from the Faculty of Social Sciences to the Faculty of Management Sciences

- Migration of the Department of Library & Information Sciences from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Social Sciences

- Renaming of the Faculty of Management Sciences to Faculty of Economics and Management

 

These decisions are aimed at aligning the university's academic programmes with emerging trends and global best practices."
