Concerned Ajido Leader Urges Reinstatement of LASU Lecturers

High-Chief Sewude Adeyinka Amosu, the Nukongan (Asiwaju) Ajido in Badagry, has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the management of Lagos State University (LASU) for the reinstatement of Dr. Tony Dansu and four other lecturers who were terminated by the university's Governing Council.

High-Chief Sewude Adeyinka Amosu, the Nukongan (Asiwaju) Ajido in Badagry, has made a heartfelt appeal to Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, and the management of the Lagos State University (LASU) to reinstate Dr. Tony Dansu, a former lecturer at the institution, along with four others who were similarly dismissed.

The five lecturers, including Dr. Dansu, were terminated by the Prof. Adebayo Ninalowo-led Governing Council during the tenure of the immediate past Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, on September 7th, 2017, and September 12th, 2019. Dr. Dansu, in particular, served as the ASUU-LASU Secretary.

Expressing his concerns over the protracted issue, Amosu emphasized the need for intervention from influential figures within the state to facilitate the reinstatement of Dr. Dansu and his colleagues. He urged prominent citizens not to remain indifferent but to actively engage in resolving the matter, highlighting the potential demoralization such dismissals could inflict upon aspiring youth activists.

Amosu further underscored the ruling by the LASU Governing Council, which deemed the dismissals as a result of administrative irregularities and called for the immediate reinstatement of the affected lecturers. He questioned the delay in implementing this decision, despite its lawful and just nature.

The appeal from High-Chief Sewude Adeyinka Amosu serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of upholding justice and fairness within educational institutions.
