Court Halts UNILAG, OAU, JAMB 2025/2026 Admissions Pending Hearing
The Federal High Court in Enugu has issued an interim order suspending the ongoing admission processes for the 2025/2026 academic session at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The Federal High Court in Enugu has issued an interim order suspending the ongoing admission processes for the 2025/2026 academic session at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The directive, given on Tuesday by Justice A.T. Segun-Bello, came after an ex-parte motion was filed by five candidates—Chibuzor Success, Oyeleye Zainab Ayomide, Adedeji John Samuel, Monsura Aliat Aduragbem, and Bassey Daniel Nsikak—on behalf of other applicants who participated in the 2025 post-UTME examinations.

The applicants sought interim injunctions restraining UNILAG, OAU, and JAMB from releasing, approving, uploading, or finalising any admission list for the academic session.
Justice Segun-Bello, in his ruling, stated that the matter raised “veritable and triable issues” that required both parties to be fully heard. He therefore ordered all parties to maintain the status quo until the substantive motion is determined.
The order effectively suspends all admission-related activities in UNILAG, OAU, and JAMB.
The case has been adjourned to October 28, 2025, for further hearing.
