Houston, Texas - Terrel Ian Parker, a United States Army veteran, celebrated a significant milestone as he graduated from Texas Southern University, marking the culmination of a 17-year educational journey.

Ian, who enrolled in college in 2004, faced challenges balancing his academic pursuits with military responsibilities, ultimately delaying his graduation. Undeterred, he shared his achievement, expressing pride in completing his Bachelor's degree in History. He reminisced, "I took my first undergrad class in August 2004. I finally received my bachelor’s degree in May 2021. Took me 17 long years, but I did it."
