The announcement was made by Mrs. Lilian Nwankwo, the chairman of the board, during the inaugural session held in Abakaliki, the state capital.

"We will ensure the proper implementation of the national curriculum to achieve qualitative education for our dear state. We wish to assure His Excellency that we will spare no effort in advancing secondary education in the state."
