The University of Lagos (UNILAG) received National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation panels on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, for the evaluation of five academic programmes: Computer Science, Mathematics, Mass Communication, Political Science, and Sociology.

Led by Prof. Fred Amadi of Rivers State University for the Mass Communication panel, the team emphasized their commitment to a balanced review process. “We will applaud commendable efforts and highlight areas needing improvement,” Prof. Amadi stated on behalf of the team leads.

The panels were formally welcomed by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research), Prof. Bola Oboh, representing the Vice-Chancellor. Other officials present included Acting Registrar Mrs. Olakunle Makinde, Director of the Academic Planning Unit Prof. Olusoji Ilori, Deans of Science and Social Sciences Faculties, Heads of Departments, and other departmental representatives.
