Federal Government Unveils Plans to Upgrade NYSC Orientation Camps Nationwide

Federal Government Unveils Plans to Upgrade NYSC Orientation Camps Nationwide

The Federal Government has announced its intention to revamp National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps across the country. During an unanticipated visit to the NYSC orientation camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, the Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, expressed concerns over the dilapidated condition of some NYSC camps, emphasizing the need for transformation.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, urged Corps Members to promote peaceful coexistence. During his visit to the Abia State Orientation Camp in Umuna, Bende Local Government Area, he emphasized the significance of unity among corps members. The Director General also cautioned against unauthorized night travels, highlighting that such actions would attract sanctions in line with NYSC bye-laws.

The proposed upgrade reflects the government's commitment to improving the facilities and conditions in NYSC orientation camps, aiming to enhance the experience of thousands of corps members nationwide.
