Federal University Lafia VC allocates offices to SSANU, NAAT, SRC
In his efforts to foster a harmonious working relationship between the Management and University based-unions on campus and provide an effective and conducive working environment for staff, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has, recently, allocated offices to the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University.

While handing over the keys to the offices, Abdul Rahman said that the office accommodation would help the unions' officials to plan and operationalise their plans intelligently.
He advised the officials of the unions to build a culture of cooperation, productivity and celebration, saying that cooperation would enhance development in the University and yield more support for the unions from the Management.
He said: “We will continue to do our best as Management to improve your safety, welfare and productivity in the system.”

The vice-chancellor urged them to make judicious use of the offices, assuring the leaders that the Management would improve service delivery in the institutions.
Also speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Partnerships, Professor Samaila Usman Dakyes, appreciated the vice-chancellor for the gesture, describing him as “a rare breed of a leader.”
Dakyes advised the unions to be supportive, saying that “the vice-chancellor and the Management need your support so that we can get to our destination of making FULafia the fifth best university in Africa.”
In their separate remarks, the union leaders expressed their appreciation to the vice-chancellor, promising to work for the development of the University.
The event took place at the Old Senate Chamber, Permanent Site Campus, FULafia.
